MTV use to be known for its dedication to everything pop culture and a slew of reality shows including fan favorites: MADE, and True Story. The iconic cable channel seems to be struggling to find it identity when the market is over populated with pop culture websites, webisodes and television shows. Nevertheless MTV expanded into MTV2 and has undergone multiple attempts at scripted television which landed them the monster hit Teen Wolf. There will be at least 5 new original series on the iconic network before 2014. In a rare move MTV has already green lighted a pilot for a tv show based off the Scream Movie franchise, without a script or a concept for the show. Officials inside MTV have stated that Scream will hopefully air by summer 2014. I guess we shall see. USA is home to some of cable’s most watched drama’s including; Suits, Burn Notice, White Collar, and many other. This year it launched a new drama series Graceland which I found to be interesting and a great addition to the stellar USA line up. The one thing that has been missing from USA’s slew of original series and marathons of NCIS and Law and Order SVU is a comedy show. To be honest I do not think there is a 30 minute show that runs on USA, this year that fact is going to change. Not only will there be 2 brand new original comedies finding a place on this drama heavy channel but the juggernaut MODERN FAMILY will officially start its syndication run on the network starting in Tuesday, September 24 at 8/7c. ABC Family is one of those rare television stations where I am going to try everything that premieres on that channel at least once. Spike TV has changed from Men's TV to something that is beginning to resemble regular network television, has announced its 2013 development slate that features not only unscripted projects, but scripted projects. All of the shows coming to Spike TV, and in development aim to reach that 18-49 demographic. 2013 will mark Spike TV’s first return to scripted television, in over six years.
