Friday Night Lights ain't got nothing on Friday Night Tykes

Friday Night Tykes did not premiere without heated controversy, sparking heated conversations across the United States and giving the brand new Esquire Network some much needed publicity. Friday Night Tykes which follows multiple youth teams playing in a football little league in Texas, sparked national debate about competitive youth sports. Making parents ask; how much is too much, what lines shouldn't we cross? After the show was criticized
by some after two coaches featured in the show who are both now suspended, told his players to hit an opponent in the head, and another for leading his 8- and 9-year-old players in a profane cheer. After the 1st season finale, the Esquire Network did a 90 min special, Tackling Tykes, Tackling Tykes, featuring first-season coaches and parents, former NFL coaches and players, youth football leaders, psychologists, trainers and neurologists who discuss safety, coaching and the role of youth football, hosted by The Insider’s Kevin Frazier. Even after causing such controversy and debate and maybe because of it, the Esquire Network has decided to renew Friday Night Tykes for a 2nd season.
