GSN GETS ITS GAME ON

GSN 2014 UPFRONTS

GSN is sticking to game shows and its working for them. In 2014 GSN plans to boost up its commitment to original content, they will be adding one new series this year with many more in development. GSN had a stellar 2013, the network’s most-watched year ever, with double-digit audience growth across all key demos and total viewers. “In 2013 our original programming began hitting on all cylinders and our ratings reached record highs. And that’s because our viewers are active, engaged and asking for more--and we are giving it to them,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, GSN’s Executive Vice President of Programming and Development. “We see limitless possibilities in the game show category and we feel confident that we can grow our audience with outside the box thinking around this genre.”

UPCOMING ORIGINAL SERIES

IDIOT TEST
IDIOT TEST, hosted by comedian Ben Gleib and based on the highly popular app game, gives two pairs of contestants with a preexisting rivalry in anything from colleges (i.e. UCLA vs USC) to sci fi (i.e. "Star Trek" fans vs. "Star Wars" fans), the opportunity to Face Off to determine once and for all, which teams of two are the true "Idiots." The rival pairs will go head to head in several rounds of rapid-fire questions whose answers any "idiot" should know: the questions, taken from the game, test observation and attention to detail as much as they test general knowledge. The contestant pairs will really need to be on their toes to come out on top. (40 X :30)

BREEZY’S RECAP:

GSN seems to have found the right content to attract new viewers and keep their old viewers happy. I love to watch Family Fued with Steve Harvey in fact I even have the iPhone game version. The shows GSN has in development seems to speak to finding a new generation and if they make it to series they may have found a new viewer in me. I think skin wars may be a little risky for their channel especially with some many bible based shows, so I wonder how long the show will last. So what about you, Do any of the new shows interest you? What will you be watching? hate them love them tell me how you feel in the comments.

The network decided to capitalized on the American public's innate fascination with alternative lifestyles and their curiosity with how these all American families; live, interact and find a way to raise and feed households that are often 5 or 6 times the size of the average family.    We got our first look into how normal and yet chaotic their lives were when TLC introduced its viewers to the Brown family; Kody, his four wives, and their seventeen children. They ice blocked, threw co-ed parties, and had a non negotiable stance on modesty -- they were normal. It only took one episode for TLC to know they had a hit on their hands.
