National Geographic Channel Goes off the Map at 2013 Upfronts

The National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild are quickly building themselves into a network that encompasses everything that has to do with the people who live in the United States, and the environment in which they live. From polygamy to wild predators, the national geographic is not afraid to shine a light in places most people have never heard of, or to explore places people have never been. At its upfront presentation in May, the national geographic channel introduced four new and seven returning series. The brass at the National Geographic Channel was so impressed with two of its freshman shows; they granted them a second season before the first even debuted. If you have not checked out any of the shows/miniseries currently airing on Nat Geo I strongly urge you to give it a try.

It's an epic competition series where the only prize is survival.

BREEZY’S RECAP

There is some interesting content on NGC for sure. I absolutely loved their show Polygamy USA, it went deep into a culture and community I was hoping some show would eventually explore. I think my next adventure into NGC will be inside the american mob, it looks intriguing and I love learning about worlds, people and cultures I have never seen up close. What about you... what do you love about NGC? Is there a new show you are looking forward to watching? An old series you just can't wait to see renewed?  What will you be watching? Let us know in the comments.

MY FIVE WIVES ON TLC

"One huge plural family" After the raid in Texas, many Americans became aware of polygamy as an alternative lifestyle being practiced secretly all over the U.S. TLC became the first channel to offer viewers an inside look into how polygamy was being practiced by "modern" looking men and women. The network decided to capitalized on the American public's innate fascination with alternative lifestyles and their curiosity with how these all American families; live, interact and find a way to raise and feed households that are often 5 or 6 times the size of the average family.    We got our first look into how normal and yet chaotic their lives were when TLC introduced its viewers to the Brown family; Kody, his four wives, and their seventeen children. They ice blocked, threw co-ed parties, and had a non negotiable stance on modesty -- they were normal. It only took one episode for TLC to know they had a hit on their hands. In four seasons, there has bee...
