Brand New Channel, Brand New Series, Brand New Start …… 2013 FX, FXX, and FXM Upfronts

Beginning September 2 nd 2013, FX networks will grow from a two channel network to a three channel network when it adds FXX to their lineup. FXX will be a new network that caters to Young Adults and will be instantly available in 74 million homes. FX will target all adults 18-49, FXX will be geared toward FXX 18-34, and FXM will be for adults 25-54. In the beginning FXX have a foundation of Original Comedies and acquired series, FX will continue its tradition of being the home for award winning original comedy and drama series, and FXM will be geared toward the movie lover in all of us. New Series, New Channel, Targeting a New Generation, PIVOT TV hosts the first PIVOT 2013 Upfronts

Beginning August 1st 2013, Participant Media home to hit movies like; Lincoln, The Help, and An Inconvenient Truth will begin to focus its attention on Television with the launch of their new cable television station Pivot. Their focus is to reach the Millennials; those who grew up watching the shows featured on Nickelodeon’s The 90’s Are All That, and remember when MTV played music and consisted of mostly music videos. Pivot TV will be the first channel, which satellite, telco and cable companies can offer to ALL of their customers, at their Upfronts cable television provider, DIRECT TV, confirmed that Pivot will be made available to it subscribers. SYFY Ventures Into Unchartered Territories at the Syfy 2013 Upfronts

Syfy has found its niche and has a development slate to prove it. With Defiance set to become the first show ever to also be a multiplayer online game, and new reality and scripted shows set to air and in development, Syfy is kicking ass and taking names. On April 24th SyFy “imagine greater” kicked off their 2013 upfront presentation by announcing the largest original programming slate in the history of the channel. SyFy Ventures announced a partnership with Hasbro at the Upfront presentation to develop an online social game based on the iconic G.I. There Are Still Games To Be Played at The 2013 GSN Upfronts

  GNS home of The Gaming Network is not playing any games when it comes to expanding original programming on their network. Home to popular favorites like Family Feud and the new hit series American Bible Challenge, GSN in 2013 is enlarging how many game shows will call the network home. Currently there are 2 new series set to premiere and 7 , yes 7 new game shows in development for the network all of which look promising. Centric Continues To Ride The Coattails of BET at 2013 Centric Upfronts

BETs' pint sized little brother, Centric, had its 2013 Upfront Presentation in Conjunction with BET this past week. It took the time to announce 2 new series joining the Centric line up, as well as the return of 6 shows , that have helped Centric remain a leading cable channel for Black Entertainment Television. Centric reminds me of family friendly, family oriented programming while BET is more traditional cable programming. As of its 2013 Upfront Presentation that trend has not changed.
