Despite WGN America only covering 62% of the country with a single feed, Salem‘s April 20 premiere averaged an impressive 3.4 million total viewers and 1.5 million adults 18-49 in Live+7. Through its first two telecasts in Live+3 viewing, Salem has logged nearly 1.7 million total viewers and 806,000 among Adults 18-49, a 776% increase over the network’s Adults 18-49 season-to-date average on Sundays at 10 PM ET.
Salem re-imagines the infamous 17th century witch trials in the Massachusetts town and it stars; Janet Montgomery, Shane West, Seth Gabel, Xander Berkeley, Ashley Madekwe, Tamzin Merchant, Elise Eberle and Iddo Goldberg. With the strong buzz surrounding this new scripted series at WGN America it is no surprise, Salem has been picked up for a second season. GSN 2014 UPFRONTS GSN is sticking to game shows and its working for them. In 2014 GSN plans to boost up its commitment to original content, they will be adding one new series this year with many more in development. GSN had a stellar 2013, the network’s most-watched year ever, with double-digit audience growth across all key demos and total viewers. “In 2013 our original programming began hitting on all cylinders and our ratings reached record highs. And that’s because our viewers are active, engaged and asking for more--and we are giving it to them,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, GSN’s Executive Vice President of Programming and Development. “We see limitless possibilities in the game show category and we feel confident that we can grow our audience with outside the box thinking around this genre.” UPCOMING ORIGINAL SERIES
