The Cult sensation that has taken two nations by storm and has illustrated the amazing acting powers of Tatiana Maslany has been renewed by BBC for a 3rd season. Orphan Black is an critically hailed sci-fi series starring Tatiana Maslany as several identical people who are revealed to be clones. The series focuses on Sarah Manning, a woman who assumes the identity of one of her clones, Elizabeth Childs, after witnessing Childs' suicide. The series raises issues about the moral and ethical implications of human cloning and its effect on issues of personal identity. Orphan Black has become a hit series for BBC and is the benchmark for the network as it expands with more scripted programming.
Orphan Black has attracted more that its share of accolades since its March 2013 launch, earning Maslany — who plays nearly a dozen characters — a Golden Globe nomination and honors from the Critics' Choice TV Awards, TCA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards. This year, Orphan Black added a Peabody Award to its trophy case. Season 3 of Orphan Black will consists of 10 episodes and is slated for a 2015 spring premiere.In other news Orphan Black will become a comic book series with IDW publishing. The IDW’s series will not be a clone of the show but will feature some all-new stories set in the complex and thrilling world of Orphan Black.
