Astronaut Wives Club picked up for season 1

  ABC has decided to get serious about its lackluster summer programming. With the Astronaut Wives Club, ABC has two homegrown original drama series set to premiere this summer. The Astronaut Wives Club received a 10 episode straight to series order, and It will join Mistresses, which is set to return for a second season this summer. Both series are produced by ABC Studios.


The show is Based on Lily Koppel’s best-selling novel published last summer, the project has been on fast-track since ABC took it in in October as a potential limited series for summer eyeing February-March start date. The Astronaut Wives Club was given a traditional pilot order, that was then upgraded to a 10-episode pickup. Written by Savage in her first TV writing effort since co-creating Gossip Girl with Schwartz, the 1969-set Astronaut Wives Club tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. Savage, Schwartz and Fake Empire’s President of Television Len Goldstein executive produced.

GSN GETS ITS GAME ON

GSN 2014 UPFRONTS    GSN is sticking to game shows and its working for them. In 2014 GSN plans to boost up its commitment to original content, they will be adding one new series this year with many more in development. GSN had a stellar 2013, the network’s most-watched year ever, with double-digit audience growth across all key demos and total viewers. “In 2013 our original programming began hitting on all cylinders and our ratings reached record highs. Preachers Daughters Round 2

The outrageous reality series Preachers Daughters , on Lifetime has been renewed for season 2 and will premiere March 5th. “The gap between heaven and hell has never been wider than in the Season 2 of Preachers’ Daughters.” So reads the press release issued today by Lifetime. Featuring 2 returning daughters; Kolby Koloff and Taylor Coleman and 2 new ones; Megan Cassidy of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and Tori Elliott from New Orleans.
