Victoria Justice Gets A New Show on MTV

Looks like there will be two MTV series that I will catching this year. MTV has picked up its second drama pilot Eye Candy starring Victoria Justice. MTV’s new development regime has gone 4-for-4, picking up all four of its scripted pilots to series; 2 comedies and 2 dramas. Eye Candy joins recently picked up coming of age drama Finding Carter, which has a 12-episode order, and new comedy series Faking It and Happyland, both with 8-episode pickups. Eye Candy, is a thriller which has received an order for 10 episodes. MTV has decided to pick up the series even though they were not entirely happy with the pilot. Therefore, The pilot, will undergo extensive recasting and will be reshot. The show should premiere sometime this year.

Eye Candy, stars Victoria Justice as tech genius Lindy who begins to suspect that one of her online suitors might be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the cyber-police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, she works with the hackers to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice. Co-starring with Justice will be Harvey Guillen, and all other roles will be recast for a new pilot episode. Eye Candy, written by Emmy Grinwis and directed by Catherine Hardwicke, marks a departure for MTV. The network also has a pilot based on the Scream horror franchise, which is still being written.

All Types of Families are Featured on ABC Family

*Updated 7/15/13* In 2013 ABC family did not host an upfront event, most likely because the fate of more than one show is still unknown. ABC Family is one of those rare television stations where I am going to try everything that premieres on that channel at least once. I may not love everything but, I must say I am addicted to more than a handful of their hit television programs.
