Bravo is moving up in the world. Today, Bravo has ordered its first scripted television show in in the channels history. Its first original scripted series will be; Girlfriends Guide to Divorce starring the formidable Lisa Edelstein . This hour long drama has received a 13 episode order and is slated to premiere sometime in 2015. Girlfriends Guide to Divorce is based on the best-selling “Girlfriend’s Guide” book series by Vicki Iovine. The series follows Abby (Edelstein), a self-help book author who is trying desperately to hide that she has separated from her husband. Abby is attempting to start her life as a single woman in her 40’s in Los Angeles. As she attempts to navigate this she begins to seek advice from her divorced friends, instead of her married ones which leads to some unexpected and life-changing experiences. The series will also star Janeane Garofalo and Beau Garrett, with Paul Adelstein and Carrie Fisher, who were all featured in the pilot.

*UPDATED JUNE 17th* Two days ago Bravo jumped into upfront season with both feet and unveiled a gigantic slate filled with original programming. It will include 17 new shows and the return of 18 unscripted series that many have grown to love and despise. As if this was not enough, the execs at Bravo’s Upfront announced three new SCRIPTED series in development. I am not sure how they are going to air so many series but it will be fun to watch them try.
