Genre Heavy Programming at the CW, 2014-2015 CW Schedule

Every Year all the networks announce what shows have been renewed, which have been cancelled, and the brand new shows that will grace everyone’s television sets in the fall. The CW is no exception. CW has been known for renewing shows that have bad ratings, but usually even then it is still somewhat predictable to figure out which series will be back for another season, and which would die, never to be heard from again. This year there was one major surprise and four new show pickups. Out of 6 shows taken to pilot, putting 4 on the roster gives the CW a pretty high batting average. With the highly anticipated Flash on the CW’s fall lineup and 1 other brand new show, it will be interesting to see how the CW does ratings wise in the Fall.  2014 CW FALL SCHEDULE

Carrie Diaries and The Tomorrow People Among the Casualties

It’s been a brutal day over at The CW, as the network gets ready for its upfront next Thursday. With six shows on the bubble, the CW definitely needed to cut some of its dead weight so that it could pick up some new series for next season. The final verdict is that freshman series the 100 , 3rd year veteran  Hart of Dixie and the sophomore series currently on hiatus Beauty and the Beast will all be returning for another season. Which means The Tomorrow People, Star-crossed and the much beloved Carrie Diaries have all gotten the ax.

CW Renews 5 For Next Season, and Keeps 6 On The Bubble

Yesterday, the CW took a lot of the guessing out of what will be renewed for next season by giving early renewal orders to its four hit series; The Vampire Diaries for season 6, Supernatural for season 10, Arrow for season 3, and the freshman hit The Originals for season 2. What came as a bit of a surprise was the renewal of one of its modest freshman series; Reign. But when all is said and done, 5 hours of the CW schedule has been set in stone for next year, before the premieres of its two mid season shows; Star Crossed and The 100.

No More Amell Wednesdays, CW Winter Schedule

THE CW is making some drastic but needs changes going into the spring. The CW is up in total viewers and demo’s over last year but it still has two significantly struggling nights and it desperately needs to stop the bleeding. This Fall the CW saw 1 of its three new original series, The Originals, become a mega hit while the other two have done well enough to receive back orders but not well enough to secure a season 2 pickup…yet. Mondays have been a ratings disaster for the CW for the last two years, so the CW is taking another crack at by launching STAR CROSSED this winter. Eventually the Star-Crossed will be followed by the freshman series The Tomorrow People. Amell Wednesday will also be a thing of the past come March, when the tomorrow People vacates its post Arrow slot where the 100 will take its place. Unfortunately Beauty and the Beast will go a hiatus with no return date specified, which is not good news for its renewal chances. I have broken down the CW schedule...

2013-2014 CW SCHELDUE

Every Year all the networks announce what shows have been renewed, which have been cancelled, and the brand new shows that will grace everyone’s television sets in the fall. The CW is no exception. CW has been known for renewing shows that have bad ratings, and with ten slots to fill this fall it was anyone’s guess, what would be renewed and which would be cancelled. For the second year in a row, the CW has moved away from its typical bread and butter – teen dramas set in high school. Instead, they have move toward shows that engages the male audience, and has little to nothing to do with the happenings of teenagers and their sex lives. With 5 new dramas and a couple of new reality shows set to premiere this 2013-2014 season, if you haven’t been a CW fan now is the time give them a chance.  2013 CW FALL SCHEDULE Monday 8 P.M. – HART OF DIXIE (SEASON 3 PREMIERE OCTOBER 7 TH 2013) 9 P.M. – BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (SEASON 2 PREMIERE OCTOBER 7 TH 2013) Tu...
