Our Favorite Fake Lesbian Couple is Getting A Second Season

FAKING IT SEASON 2! One of my ultimate guilty pleasures, which is equal parts crazy ridiculous and a story about finding yourself, has been renewed for a second season. The controversial MTV comedy, Faking it has been given a 10 episode second season. Faking It turned out to be the highest-rated new series launched on MTV this year, averaging a 1.5 rating among the network’s target demographic of persons 12-34 and 1.4 million total viewers each week. Airing at 10:30 PM, it retains nearly 90% of its lead-in, MTV flagship comedy Awkward, and regularly ranks as one of the Top 10 most socially engaged primetime cable series on Tuesday. 

3 New Series Announced at MTV, MTV 2014 Upfronts

MTV use to be known for its dedication to everything pop culture and a slew of reality shows including fan favorites: MADE, and True Story. The iconic cable channel seems to be struggling to find it identity when the market is over populated with pop culture websites, webisodes and television shows. Nevertheless MTV expanded into MTV2 and has undergone multiple attempts at scripted television which landed them the monster hit Teen Wolf. MTV has renewed some fan favorites and picked up 3 new unscripted series featuring dancers, alaskans and people owning up to making bad choices. At its upfronts last month, MTV was also nice enough to set a premiere date for one of its most anticipated new dramas; Finding Carter. Newly Announced Series:

Victoria Justice Gets A New Show on MTV

Looks like there will be two MTV series that I will catching this year. MTV has picked up its second drama pilot Eye Candy starring Victoria Justice. MTV’s new development regime has gone 4-for-4, picking up all four of its scripted pilots to series; 2 comedies and 2 dramas. Eye Candy joins recently picked up coming of age drama Finding Carter, which has a 12-episode order, and new comedy series Faking It and Happyland, both with 8-episode pickups. Eye Candy , is a thriller which has received an order for 10 episodes. MTV has decided to pick up the series even though they were not entirely happy with the pilot. Therefore, The pilot, will undergo extensive recasting and will be reshot. The show should premiere sometime this year.

New Drama Finding Carter Picked Up by MTV

Last year MTV picked up four scripts to pilot; comedies Faking It and Happyland and dramas Finding Carter and Eye Candy . So far, MTV has picked up 3 of the four pilots to series. These new shows will be a welcome change from what has been airing on MTV in the last few years. There has been No final decision Eye Candy which is a cyber thriller starring Victoria Justice, but it is a departure for MTV and its prospects are considered so-so.
