New Drama Finding Carter Picked Up by MTV

Last year MTV picked up four scripts to pilot; comedies Faking It and Happyland and dramas Finding Carter and Eye Candy. So far, MTV has picked up 3 of the four pilots to series. These new shows will be a welcome change from what has been airing on MTV in the last few years. There has been No final decision Eye Candy which is a cyber thriller starring Victoria Justice, but it is a departure for MTV and its prospects are considered so-so.

MTV has ordered 12 episodes of their drama, Finding Carter. Finding Carter centers on a teenager girl Carter (Kathryn Prescott) who appears to have the perfect life with her fun-loving single mom Lori (Milena Govich). Everything appears to be perfect until Carter discovers Lori had abducted her as a toddler. With Lori on the lamb, Carter is sent to live with her biological parents who she has never met. Her biological family thought they had lost her forever and her brand new parents (Cynthia Watros, Alexis Denisof), and twin sister (Anna Jacoby-Heron), are all ready to welcome her home. As Carter learns to deal with high school, her new family and boys, she vows to find Lori before the only mom she’s ever known is gone forever. Finding Carter is expected to air sometime in 2014.

I must say I am really looking forward to this series. It's different and based on an interesting premise. What do you think? Will you be watching Finding Carter on MTV?

MY FIVE WIVES ON TLC

"One huge plural family" After the raid in Texas, many Americans became aware of polygamy as an alternative lifestyle being practiced secretly all over the U.S. TLC became the first channel to offer viewers an inside look into how polygamy was being practiced by "modern" looking men and women. The network decided to capitalized on the American public's innate fascination with alternative lifestyles and their curiosity with how these all American families; live, interact and find a way to raise and feed households that are often 5 or 6 times the size of the average family.    We got our first look into how normal and yet chaotic their lives were when TLC introduced its viewers to the Brown family; Kody, his four wives, and their seventeen children. They ice blocked, threw co-ed parties, and had a non negotiable stance on modesty -- they were normal. It only took one episode for TLC to know they had a hit on their hands. In four seasons, there has bee...
