The National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild are quickly building themselves into a network that encompasses everything that has to do with the people who live in the United States, and the environment in which they live. From polygamy to wild predators, the national geographic is not afraid to shine a light in places most people have never heard of, or to explore places people have never been. At its upfront presentation in May, the national geographic channel introduced four new and seven returning series. The brass at the National Geographic Channel was so impressed with two of its freshman shows; they granted them a second season before the first even debuted. If you have not checked out any of the shows/miniseries currently airing on Nat Geo I strongly urge you to give it a try.

Like the original National Geographic explorers, for those who succeed there is no grand prize, just the well-fought pride of having conquered the grueling challenges that Mother Nature can throw at them. It's an epic competition series where the only prize is survival.
Life Below Zero follows six people as they battle for the most basic necessities in the state with the lowest population density in the United States. Living at the ends of the world's loneliest roads and subsisting off the rugged Alaskan bush, they battle whiteout snow storms, man-eating carnivores, questionable frozen terrain, and limited resources through a long and bitter winter. Some of them are lone wolves; others have their families beside them. All must overcome despairing odds to brave the wild and survive through to the spring.
TABOO USA (PREMIERED TUESDAY JUNE 4TH @ 10pm)
We've taken you around the world exploring behaviors and lifestyles that are acceptable in some cultures but forbidden, illegal or reviled in others. They understand that every item has a story to tell, and Diggers brings history to life through graphics and historical context. They are invited by landowners, historians and archaeologists to go on a quest, and in their own way, a crusade, to unearth history that would have otherwise been forgotten.

There is some interesting content on NGC for sure. I absolutely loved their show Polygamy USA, it went deep into a culture and community I was hoping some show would eventually explore. I think my next adventure into NGC will be inside the american mob, it looks intriguing and I love learning about worlds, people and cultures I have never seen up close. What about you... what do you love about NGC? Is there a new show you are looking forward to watching? An old series you just can't wait to see renewed? What will you be watching? Let us know in the comments.
