Billy Crystal headed to FX

FX has picked up the new comedy, The Comedians with a 13 episode order which is set to premiere in 2015. The comedians will be top-lined by the actor-comedian Billy Crystal which will mark his return to prime time television. The Comedians, is based on the 2004 Swedish series Ulveson And Herngren, and will star Crystal as a superstar veteran comedian who is reluctantly paired with a younger, edgier comic (Josh Gad) for a late-night comedy sketch show.
The Comedians enjoyed a fast pickup decision, with FX brass making the call shortly after seeing the pilot. “We’re incredibly excited about The Comedians and the fact that Billy Crystal will be making his return to series television on FX,” President of Original Programming Nick Grad said in FX’s official announcement. “The chemistry between Billy and Josh is amazing, and Larry, Matt, Ben and Billy did a fantastic job of making what is certain to become one of the best comedies on TV.” The Comedians marks Crystal’s first regular TV series in more than 30 years, since ABC’s 1977-81 comedy Soap. The Comedians is the third pilot from FX’s extensive comedy slate to get a series pickup, joining Married and You’re the Worst. Excited about The Comedians, tell us all about it in the comments.

MY FIVE WIVES ON TLC

"One huge plural family" After the raid in Texas, many Americans became aware of polygamy as an alternative lifestyle being practiced secretly all over the U.S. TLC became the first channel to offer viewers an inside look into how polygamy was being practiced by "modern" looking men and women. They ice blocked, threw co-ed parties, and had a non negotiable stance on modesty -- they were normal. It only took one episode for TLC to know they had a hit on their hands. In four seasons, there has bee...
