Centric Continues To Ride The Coattails of BET at 2013 Centric Upfronts

BETs' pint sized little brother, Centric, had its 2013 Upfront Presentation in Conjunction with BET this past week. It took the time to announce 2 new series joining the Centric line up, as well as the return of 6 shows, that have helped Centric remain a leading cable channel for Black Entertainment Television. Centric reminds me of family friendly, family oriented programming while BET is more traditional cable programming. As of its 2013 Upfront Presentation that trend has not changed. While the choice of new series joining the network may not thrill many people, the actress on these shows may do the trick. Read below for what 2013 will bring to Centric.

What's New......

In a humorous twist of art imitating real life at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Centric premiere a star-studded scripted comedy about a presidential African American family residing in the White House. Christoper B. Duncan is President William Johnson and Kellita Smith stars as his wife, First Lady Katherine Johnson. Together, they run the free world and raise four children.

One of Hollywood's most bankable stars got himself in trouble with the law, and is ordered to give back by fulfilling an unlikely sentence: community service as a high school English teacher in South Central Los Angles. Bill Bellamy leads an all-star cast in this scripted comedy that looks at the human side of stardom.

What's Coming Back.....

Through candid interviews featuring intimate stories about what drove the creative process for current album releases, As Written unlocks the door to the creative process and exposes the inspiration behind the work of some of your favorite R&B and soul artists.

The new season of Being takes viewers into the lives of some of the music industry's most legendary artists, including Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder. Their struggle and triumphs have helped to shape the careers of so many; without them, the music scene would be vastly different. The docu-series shares first hand accounts from the artist and those who recall what it was life for these entertainers as they ascended to stardom and how they've managed to stay on top.

Centric Certified is Centric's emerging campaign designed to expose Centric's audience to the next generation of R&B/ Soul stars. Centric Certified will highlight the best in new music with promos that bring the viewers into the world of the artist. Centric Certified artists also receive prominent placement on with photo galleries, live-streamed music and unique video content.

Featuring some of today's hottest comedians, Centric Comedy All Stars will be one of the hottest tickets in Vegas during Centric Soul Weekend. This two hour special promises to deliver some side splitting, family friendly humor and keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Busy adults need an easy way to get the scoop on what's cool and happening right now. Culture List delivers the latest for our discerning, well-heeled audience. Returning Mega Specials on Centric.....

The hippest trip in america keeps grooving forward. The iconic brand that defined a generation returns for 2014 with its signature awards show. Featuring never before seen Musial collaboration and powerful tributes from world class performers, the Soul Train Awards brings you the most revered and promising voices in soul and R&B. And since airing on both our networks is always better, The Soul Train Awards is simulcast on Centric and BET

"Centric Soul Weekend" will be an amazing on the ground experience shared by viewers, artists, and clients alike, as Las Vegas comes alive with a celebration and showcase of the best of African American culture.

Breezy's Recap....

I know that this is going to sound crazy since I do not watch Centric, Hell I barely watch BET, I am really interested in checking out both of their new series; The Family First and Mr. Box Office. There is nothing that I regularly watch, or want to watch on Centric TV, if there is anything that someone like PLEASE let me know. I hope all those that love Centric TV are excited about what is upcoming on the Network. Do you like Centric? Do any of these shows interest you? Would you like a review of one of these shows before you invest your time in it? What will you be watching? Let me know in the comments.
