RECAP AND REVIEW: WARNING *SPOILERS AHEAD*

With all the advertisements and promos that have been released regarding the Blacklist, you would think that you would already know the plot. Well on one hand yea, you’ve got the gist of it; Reddington, who is on FBI’s top ten most wanted turns himself in and demands to only speak to profiler Elizabeth Keen, he then informs her about a kidnapping and there is something about a bomb and a crash on a bridge. OK all of this is true, but this is only half of what went down in this drama packed, high action thriller on NBC!

OK. Lets start from the beginning Reddington turns himself in to the FBI and will only speak to Elizabeth Keen. (Did anyone else like that box they held him in?) One has to ask a few questions; why is he turning himself in now, why will he only deal with Elizabeth Keen, and how involved is he in this kidnapping plan? Well when he tell Elizabeth about the Generals daughter, she believes him and she and a team head to her dance class in an attempt to stop the kidnapping. They get there, pick her up and it seems all is well, until a big ass truck comes out of nowhere and slams into the car with the girl in it. The kidnappers, shoot up  the FBI escort, set fire to the bridge and one gives Ms. Keen a choice, when he offers the gas mask for the girl. She takes it and ultimately helps give the girl to the kidnappers so they won’t hurt her trying to pull her out of the flipped SUV. (finally a girl that can choose the lesser of two evils)

Angry about the girl being taken, she heads back to Reddington demanding answers, he offers a trade; more help for better accommodations. The FBI accepts and he trades FBI cuffs for a penthouse 4 star hotel room. Keen heads home to her husband to try and smooth things over since she missed their adoption appointment, and finds the house full of pink and white balloons, and her husband beaten and bloody strapped to a chair in their living room. Zamani (the kidnapper) is demanding answers and stabbing her husband, he leaves with no questions answered b/c well she did know anything and Keen’s husband is rushed to the hospital.

Livid, fuming and wanting a little of her own revenge, Keen stalks back to Reddingtons room, and when he doesn’t answer her questions; she stabs him in the neck with a pen. (Ouch, now Lizzie he can’t talk if he can barely breathe js) He’s taken to the hospital, and she is kinda kicked off the Reddington Case. Reddington escapes his minimum security hospital room and starts roaming the streets of DC until he meets up with Zamani and it turns out that he may have had a bit more to do with the kidnapping and the attack on Keen’s husband that previously anticipated. (looks like he set it all up, well mayb part of it, or he knew about it in advance and asked for a favor, we’re not sure and he is a criminal) And this kind of hmm well mayb, kinda, is what keeps the suspense going through the whole show, even when you think you have answers, it’s like your only seeing one side of the equation.

Anyway, a friend of Reddington disarms the bomb strapped to the kidnapped girls chest, and they get Reddington back into FBI custody, who then proceeds to make himself a deal to help the FBI round up the criminals that really matter, as long as he’s not in cuffs and he only speaks to Keen. (did anyone else feel like he may be a spy coming in from the cold, or that he was recruited by the CIA for this very purpose who then lost control of him?) Of Course the FI says yes, and Lizzie heads home to scrub the blood from her carpet in the dining room, realizing that stain ain’t eva coming out, she cuts into it and rips it up only to find a box hidden in the floorboards of her dining room, filled with cash, a gun, and more passports than she can count all with her husband’s face and different names.  (looks like the hubby has been a bad boy) So was the husband tortured because he was a spy, was he tortured right on top of his safe box because reddigton knew it was there? Questions questions.. She heads to reddington and the look on her face tells it all, and Reddington ask if she found out anything new about her husband? Hmmmm well we cant wait till next Monday at 10

SCENE STEALER AWARD GOES TO:

Elizabeth Keen when she proved she was lethal and dangerous, as she stabbed Reddington in the neck.

Runner Up- Reddington as he turns himself in, something in the way he was cool, collected, made himself comfortable, and never flinched made us like him from the start
